TERENCE SCHELL started at the early age of nineteen years to study classic photography and took apprenticeship with various photographers in fashion and still live photography. Initially inspired at the age of eleven he was taken by his father to a photo exhibition.The life-size black and white photographs left an everlasting imprint on his memory and encouraged him to move to the fashion capitals. 

 

These life size photographs exhibiton was named "The big Nudes" by HELMUT NEWTON. 

 

A few years later arriving in Miami Beach in the mid 80ies he was fortunate to assist NEWTON for the US VOGUE Magazine and the rooftop nude version was published in a later book. After the fashion editorial work was done he was invited to spend an extra special week as the companion for the couple and VOGUE Magazine had furnished them to spend days in Coconut Groove and other Miami locations. Finally when the memorable days seemed over and after days and evenings of learning from the master in the Doral Hotel, he was given a personal gift, NEWTON´s  book singed and made out to Terence with the dedicational words:

 

"...keep on clicking und Gut Licht"" Miami Airport 25.1.1991,

Later on he worked with other well known fashion photographers like LES GOLDBERG, TORKIL GUDNASSON and NEIL KIRK to name a few. By 1995 TERENCE SCHELL got his first main advertising campaign for Andy Warhol´s INTERVIEW Magazine, GQ, ELLE, Harper´s Bazaar  - and got to photograph the relaunch of the famous 

 

INDIAN MOTORCYCLE Company

 

The head campaign advertising photograph shows the owner of INDIAN Motorcycles wearing a black leather jacket with the American Flag and in big embroidery the red brand lettering on it. 

 

Further on SCHELL was working numerous photographic sessions also still life Ad´s for SING LANGUAGE and various portraits like the one of stunning Irish Singer SINÉAD O´CONNOR with TORKIL GUDNASSON. He also worked and learned  years with the iconic fashion photographer LES GOLDBERG. There he was in the makings of MARIANNE WILLIAMSON Book Cover Portrait for her book:
